Introversion/Extroversion Level
What is Introversion/Extroversion (I/E) level? It refers to the amount of stimulus that your brain needs to be happy. Yes, you can have an unhappy brain! Many things affect your brain's happiness/unhappiness, but here we discuss the I/E level. Our brains need to have a comfortable level of stimulus in order to best process information.
While we naturally have a certain comfort level, different things can cause that level to adjust. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) in your brain adjusts this level as necessary. For example, stressful situations make the brain's protective mechanism kick in and "pull you in" (so to speak) to a more introverted scale. Keep in mind your I/E level is not the same as personality attributes such as shyness or outspokenness—I/E is about the stimulus your brain wants.
Have you ever wondered why those incredibly smart, quiet children have such a hard time performing well on tests? Have you ever thought that far too many children are diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? Is it possible they are just extremely extroverted and their brain just needs more stimulus?
Our workshops will help you to better understand what your comfort level is. It will also help you to understand others' comfort levels and, greatly improve your relationships.
